“Under the Sponsored Reserve Concept, a service normally provided in peacetime by contractor staff is provided on operations by staff drawn from the contractor’s workforce who are reservist members of the Armed Forces.   The SR concept envisages letting contracts for services on condition that the contractor maintains in his workforce an agreed element who have volunteered to become members of a reserve force”.
