UKDF VIEWPOINTS: THE NEW DEFENCE AND SECURITY WEBSITE
6 February 2008
The UK Defence Forum today launches a new publicly-available website
dedicated to defence and security issues, UKDF Viewpoints. The website,
which already has a considerable library of publications and articles
online, will be regularly updated with speeches, reports, books and
papers on a range of issues. Visitors to the website will be able not
only to see short analyses of these publications, but also to add their
own comments and contribute to discussions on each publication. The website includes substantial contributions from MPs, researchers, academics and industry insiders.
UKDF Viewpoints can be accessed at http://ukdf.blogspot.com.
Publications on the website already include papers on British defence
policy, national security, critical national infrastructure, armed
forces’ welfare and military procurement.
UKDF Viewpoints is run by the UK Defence Forum, which exists
to enable politicians, industrialists, members of the armed forces,
academics and others with an interest in defence and security issues to
exchange information and views on the future needs of Britain’s defence.
The website is provided in addition to the library of papers that the UK
Defence Forum provides to its members (who are drawn largely from
politics and industry).
UKDF Viewpoints would be keen to hear from authors, researchers,
policymakers and others who’d like to contribute to the website, which
aims to increase the scope of public discussion of defence and security
issues and to stimulate debate around key strategic questions. Anyone
interested in contributing, or who has any feedback, can contact Nick
Lee at the UK Defence Forum at nick@north-house.com or on +44 (0)191 233 6311.
